Part 4

Hello friends! A little update on my travels. I left all the magpies in London and now find myself in Cairo. This is a quick post, im at 10% battery.

My third day here is coming to an end and i find myself at a loss for words to properly describe my impression of Cairo so far. The city just feels so massive. I played the Assassin’s creed game where you are Bayek in Egypt. An incredibly large open world experience for 2017’s standards, but that was set in a time period before the advent of Cairo the city. Makes sense, Cairo is massive. A lot bigger than Bayek’s little play pin. It just feels as if the city keeps going and going.

Far from a lame behemoth, Cairo is full of life in every corner. Like a Portuguese man-o-war. There are a few things that cities in the States could implement to make life better, and more alive.

One is the use of bidets, what a phenomenal way to clean one’s behind after going number two…

Another is the traffic laws, or lack thereof. There are hardly any traffic lights or signs, and a whole lot of cars trying to go somewhere. On the rare occasion that i do see a light or sign, it is rarely heeded unless there are officers directing cars themselves. From what i can tell, this makes traffic much more efficient as lanes are invented and, i mean driving isn’t that hard you just gotta kind of figure out how to get where you want to go without hitting people. This also makes crossing the street a lot more fun. Never have i been in a place when crossing the street and i can count on incoming traffic to speed up and try to make it past me. shits crazy, but im getting the hang of it. i think the trick is just to walk and believe that you’ll be fine somehow. It does make you wish you had smaller feet when squeezing between two moving busses…

The traffic is crazy and all but the most life (IMO) comes from the people and the food. Got to wrap this post up because now im at 2%, more on the people and food later.

Peace.
