Lon-to-the-Don
Salaam everybody. London has been very exciting so far. I’ve met many wonderful people and tried a lot of good food in just the short time here so far. As usual, i will share with y’all the important stuff followed by my thoughts.
- Important: i had a lot of really good and really free felafel, shawarma, kofta, etc. A bit of foreshadowing i suppose but i met some very sweet Egyptians that used their charm to finesse a lot of free food for me to try. FOOD TASTES GREAT WHEN ITS FREE. but i have reason to believe that the food would have tasted great with a price tag as well.
- Important: Speaking of price tags. WOOF, yo america the USD is not looking good here. If you want to feel insignficant, i introduce you the British Pound. Here is a word to the wise, DO NOT cash your american dollars at the airport, you will get a bad deal. I mean it looks official, but i guess they can officially make a profit in trading money. Sorry Dad, but the 100 bucks you gave me turned into 56 pounds and is now 40 pounds. Hare Krishna meals (free) and the Egyptian hookup has been filling my belly tho.
- Important: I am doing a vibe assessment of London in comparison to what im used to. It is quite likely the future, here. Bathroom stalls are NOT transparent. There are machines that dispense soap then water and then proceed to dry your hands. These exist in public restrooms. I was in the library and witnessed a sleep pod or “metro nap” where you saddle in put in the headphones and nap for 20 minutes listening to one of the meditation tracks available. Shits is wiild. But its also future because CCTV is everywhere, if you tryna be paranoid you can see cameras on almost every building around the city. If you forget about it its not noticeable, but the fact remains… you are always being watched. feels like some dystopian novel.
It’s cold, dark and rainy most of the time. Maghreb is at 4 o’clock.
So this is my blog, i’m gonna have a lil fun here. Get ready for a movie review. [ no Spoilers ]
[ no Spoilers ] I saw Irishmen in theaters. I liked it. But make sure you take a leak beforehand because it is three and a half hours, deadass. I took a pee beforehand and my bladder was knockin near the end, but thats me and my body. Could be different for you. you never know. [ no Spoilers ]
Here is a photo:

The metro system is called the tube.

Yo i gotta be honest, London does not feel as lit as New York. Not yet at least, i’ll remember this hot take. may have to reassess.
On that note i shall leave you with this picture, and bid you a good night.
