its part 9 for sure

Part nine forr suuure!

Im back for the ninth time wooh.. (will he ever stop?)

The more i see of Oman the more i like it here. My first impressions are being buried by fresh experiences and im glad i didnt voice too many of my thoughts because now i know better!

Prices here can be just a great as in Egypt but it just takes more digging and more dodging (of the tourist areas).

I mean theres this spot behind this shopping center near my crib & they be slinging a half a bird with some good hot seasoning on it for just 1 riyal (2.6 bucks) and it comes with like 4 parathas. and that bird is gooood. bok bok for ya buck right there.

I mean it definitely feels like the opposite of Cairo, especially driving here.. man there are so many laws, and if you run a red light BAM! 24 hrs in jail. no lie. im not kidding. theres also hella radar detectors to bink you and send u the bill in the mail. so dont speed and dont run the lights unless ur an expert.

I mean i really like it here its chill vibes all around. The quiet beauty of the mountains and the masajid really does something for that whole inner peace thing that you got. Or outer peace for all of you Toro & Moi fans.

Aight so i dindnt ever finish this post, now im back a few days later.

First of all, Rest in Peace to his majesty the late Sultan Qaboos

inna illahi wa inna lilayhi rajiuun

Oman has been in a mourning period here for the past two days and two more days to come. The sky gave us rain too.

So what i eat in a day? right?

This is a classic meal for myself. It is very flexible. it feeds me for dinner and for breakfast the next day (with the leftover fuul)

I call it the O_spread

step 1: crack open a trusty can of fava beans and dump them jimms inna pot, set that pot to boil and let em go. i like to add thai chili pepper for a kek

step 2: start heating up the chicken nuggets in the pan because your microwave is probably broken. Well at least we know that whenever we try to use it, it begins to smoke and a loud noise and smells like burnt plastic. it could explode.

step 3: after the fuuls been boilin a lil bit and the water level is decreasing add some seasoning in and start mashing em up. i use a secret spice mix called “Bahraini Masala” its good, gets the job done.

step 4: set fuul aside in a bowl or something bc u only have 2 burners and then start heating up the rice that you cooked the day before.

step 5: chicken nuggets are done, rice is warm.

step 5: heat up some bread in one pan and scramble eggs with some cheese while theyre heating

step 5: EAT, but dont eat all the fuul. save some for the next morning.

Its a really good meal, you’re welcome. i wish i had a lot of younger cousins, i could turn this blog into a teaching blog for life lessons.

ive found a lot of food stuff selling here, maybe its a chain?

These pics were from Nizwa, we rented a car and took a trip up there. thats how i learned the driving rules i typed earlier in the post.

Also i will confide in my readers that i have a feeling that i cant escape french no matter where i go. i tried to give it up. an attempted break-up with the language, but alas i find myself making francophone friendophones. c’est quoi ça? i fear the french is taking up limited brain space that i was planning to use for new arabic vocabulary.

hot takes for folks back home:

1- Yall making coffee with all that fancy slow drip cold brew pour over volcano dragon methods but you really missing the point. all you need is Cardamom.

2- Yall making “chai” wrongo too. i mean since chai just means tea, folks here call it karak and its got cardamom, cloves, saffron, cinnamon and pistachio in it, maybe more? Its super good, but i think im lactose intolerant or at least karak intolerant. every time i have more than one cup i either bloat or toilet… its tragic.

3- Yall be having your weekend saturday sunday.. wack! here its friday saturday. oughta be fr-sat-sun truth be told.

4- Yall got too many sidewalks, live life in the street sometimes!

5- Yall got the fashion all fucke dup, folks rocking the dishdashas like its the wave. its the wave. havent tried it myself, but it looks comfortable and clean.
